Homework

ON GOING HOMEWORK:

Learning words/ sight vocabulary - once your child starts to bring home their mini flashcards, please try to learn them as often as you can, every day if possible.  Please remember to bring them back to school every day too because we check them and give out new words as often as we can. However, rather than rush the children through the words, we would like you to play as many of the games/ activities as possible from the ideas sheet included with the words.  This will help the children to know and use the words in a much wider context

TOPIC HOMEWORK:

Over the year your child will be given homework in lots of different forms.  They might have to work on letters or numbers, find out information, bring in an item relating to a topic, make something – the list is endless.  They will all have one thing in common though – they should be fun to do!  We will always send home clear (hopefully) instructions of what to do and when to return the homework to school.  The returned item, in some form or other depending on what it is,  goes into your child’s homework file which is kept in the classroom, as a record of their achievements.   If you ever have any concerns regarding the homework that your child is receiving – too much, too little, too hard, too easy etc, please come in and have a chat about it - there’s always a solution!  Thank you
